At the beginning of my search to help my son with his back-to-school anxiety, it quickly became evident this information is not readily available to parents or caregivers.
I am so excited to share some tools with you today that I have learned from our experience with anxiety, and what has helped our kids with anxiety around going back to school anytime of year.

You can take the techniques that Jessica discusses in this book and apply them to any anxiety inducing or stressful situation that you encounter in your daily life. What I especially love about the techniques she offers are that they don’t require a lot of time or money to use. They are simplistic in nature but extremely effective. I can’t wait to try out the rest of her tips!

The overall message of this book communicated that mental health matters, at every stage of life and that anyone and everyone can benefit from reading it. The author, Jess, uses her words to create a positive contribution to the mental health and wellbeing of those who read it and utilize these simple tips/ tools provided. I use some of these tools every single day in my everyday life for myself, relationships with others and kids I nanny. I strongly recommend you check it out for yourself!

As a parent with a child who struggles with mental health, this book has helped empower me to remain a steady anchor as my child continues to navigate the public system. The idea of personifying the Amygdala as “Amy” has helped my child manage and label the sensations associated with the sympathetic nervous system, so it doesn’t feel so scary. Thanks Jess
